Aureet loved nature, animals, and the simple joys of life like long walks and spending time with loved ones. This very spot, Sandy Pond, became the scene of tragedy on January 7, 1991. While attempting to rescue her dog from the icy waters, Aureet drowned. The Aureet Bar-Yam Plaque stands as a stark reminder of this heartbreaking event.
