What began as the École des arts industriels et des mines de Lille in 1854 has transformed into the impressive École Centrale de Lille – Bâtiment D that stands before you. École Centrale de Lille has a rich history rooted in innovation. Louis Pasteur served as dean of the Faculté des sciences de Lille in the same year it was founded. By 1871, the school had grown to 90 students per year. A Baccalaureate was a prerequisite for admission.
