Aarsballe developed around the farms of Aarsballegård and Træbenegård. These farms were the heart of the early community. They witnessed the slow growth of Aarsballe. Aarsballe’s high elevation proved advantageous. In 1955 a 125-meter tall FM transmitter was erected. In 1996 a 316-meter TV2 mast joined it. The TV2 mast’s peak sits 432 meters above sea level. This makes it the highest point in Denmark.
Aarsballe today boasts stunning views. You can see the Nyker Plantage and Almindingen forests. Its unique past. Its important role in Bornholm’s history.
