Established in 1890, during the Qing Dynasty, the Henan Christian Church has witnessed a fascinating evolution. Initially, it served as a humble chapel for the Chinese United Brethren in Christ Mission in Qixing Zhongyue. The church’s journey took a turn in 1934. Road construction necessitated a move to Hongde Wuxiang. The new chapel, completed in 1935, was christened the Church of Christ in China Hongde Church. The Henan Christian Church faced a period of adversity during the Cultural Revolution. The church was occupied and repurposed for secular use by schools. However, its spirit remained unbroken. The main hall was reclaimed in 1981, and religious services joyously resumed on February 22nd of that year. The church was then officially designated as the Henan Christian Church. Today, the Henan Christian Church stands as a testament to its resilience. It occupies a substantial area of about 800 square meters. The main hall, spanning two floors, covers 450 square meters. The entire construction encompasses 870 square meters, complemented by a serene garden area of 350 square meters. The chapel, located on the second floor of the main hall, provides seating for over 400 worshippers. The church’s location at No. 23, Jiangde Wuxiang, Hongde Lu, Haizhu District, Guangzhou, makes it accessible by numerous bus routes.
