Perhaps you have noticed the world’s tallest statue of Lord Shani. That’s what makes Shani Mandir in Delhi so famous. Welcome to a place where devotion meets architectural simplicity.

Shani Mandir stands as a testament to faith. It is a beacon for those seeking solace and blessings from Lord Shani. The temple’s story is as captivating as the deity it honors.

The temple’s idol was inaugurated in 2003 by Anant Shree Vibhushit Jagat Guru Shankracharya Swami Madhavasharam Ji Maharaj. Before the unveiling, Shree Shani Dham Peethadeshwar Sant Shiromani Shani Charanuragi ‘Datti’ Madan Maharaj Rajasthani Ji chanted 132 million Shani Mantras. Imagine the resonating power of those mantras. They purify the atmosphere around Shani Mandir.

The Shani Mandir has the world’s largest Shani idol. It’s a very large metal statue of Shani Dev. It is visible at the top of a building on the eastern side of Shila. The building also houses 12 Jyotirlingas. Lord Shani sits on the buzz and the vulture on the west side.

The temple’s architecture is simple yet elegant. Red paint coats the structure. Skilled artisans carve the walls. White marble adorns the floor. An idol of Lord Hanuman stands to the right of Lord Shani’s idol.

Inside Shani Mandir, you will find no priests mediating between devotees and Lord Shani. Each devotee connects directly with the divine. This direct connection is a unique aspect of worship here. People offer oil to the idol of Shani. Some offer 101 oil boxes. Some offer a whole tanker of oil to God Shani.

Saturday is the most rushed day at Shani Mandir. It is dedicated to Lord Shani. The doors of the temple are open to all every day. The morning aarti is held at 6:00 AM. The evening aarti is at 10:00 PM. You can join these aartis.

Shani Mandir is more than a religious site. The Shree Shani Dham Trust manages the temple. It is a non-profit NGO that runs a goshala. It also runs schools and provides scholarships. The trust provides water in rural Rajasthan.

Remember to dress decently when visiting. Entry to the temple is free. Photography is not allowed inside the temple. If you come by metro, the nearest station is about 6.2 km away. Parking is available if you drive.

So here at Shani Mandir Delhi, feel the energy. It is a place of peace and devotion. It is a testament to the power of faith. May your visit bring you blessings and peace.
