Ever wondered how a simple act of kindness can blossom into a ministry touching hundreds of lives? That is the story of Impact Peace Ministry.
Impact Peace Ministry started with a vision. It began in April 2013 in Ghana. Sabine, a missionary with Pais Project, felt a strong calling. She saw children in Accra seemingly wasting their potential. This vision became a burden. She wanted to bring smiles to their faces.
Sabine enlisted the help of her friend Mary Kotey. Together, they visited a marketplace. They gathered children to play games and sing songs. About 60 children joined. This fellowship was so beautiful. Sabine and Mary decided to meet the children regularly.
Initially, the meetings lacked a formal name. During a church service, God inspired Sabine. She named it “Impact Lives Club”. As the ministry expanded, the name changed to “Impact Lives Ministry”. This marked a significant step. The first team shirts were printed. A dedicated team was established. A building was rented for weekly meetings.
From day one, God blessed Impact Peace Ministry. The ministry grew steadily. The Charismatic Evangelistic Ministry church offered support. They funded a bus. This bus picked up the children for church every Sunday. It ensured they had the opportunity to attend.
Today, about 40 vulnerable children regularly attend meetings. They come from underprivileged backgrounds. They gather at Haatso, Accra. Here, they grow in their knowledge of God. They build strong relationships with one another.
Impact Peace Ministry focuses on three pillars. These are relationship, growth, and mission. They teach the children about Jesus. They spend time in prayer and worship. They assist with academics. They encourage connection through games and handicrafts. Snacks are always shared.
On Thursdays, the children meet at Family House Chapel in Haatso. On Sundays, the bus transports them to Charismatic Evangelistic Ministry Church. After Sunday school, they are taken home. Mary Kotey leads the ILM team in Ghana.
The impact extends beyond Ghana. Since October 2015, Impact Peace Ministry has also been in Nairobi, Kenya. Samuel Nii Abu Amasah initiated this outreach. He reached out to children in Mathare, a slum. Despite the extreme poverty, about 200 children attend ILM meetings every Saturday. They meet at a slum church.
Impact Peace Ministry is still growing. Yet, its foundation is strong. It began with a simple desire to help children. It has transformed into a beacon of hope and faith.
