Ever wondered what secrets lie within the seemingly ordinary landscapes around us? The Naturmuseum Königsbrunn is your gateway to discovery. This museum is dedicated to the flora, fauna, and geology of the Lechfeld region.

The Naturmuseum Königsbrunn owes its existence to Dr. Heinz Fischer. He was a passionate naturalist whose extensive collection formed the museum’s foundation. Fischer’s dedication to the natural world continues to inspire visitors today. He lived from 1911 to 1991.

Inside the Naturmuseum Königsbrunn, explore diverse habitats. Discover the interconnectedness of forests, meadows, and water ecosystems. Gain insight into how human actions impact nature. A large Lechdiorama vividly illustrates this.

The nine-meter-long diorama depicts the Lech River as a wild river. It highlights the profound consequences of river straightening in the 20th century. These changes also affected the surrounding heathland. Heathlands are another key focus of the museum.

Dr. Fischer’s fascination extended to insects from around the globe. Admire a vast array of these creatures displayed in numerous showcases. The Naturmuseum Königsbrunn is designed to bring you closer to local habitats. You can vividly experience them on a small scale. A designed Lech landscape welcomes visitors giving an impression of the original diversity.

The museum interactively presents various animal species. You can closely observe life in the water, along the waterside and in the forest. The Naturmuseum Königsbrunn makes learning accessible to all. Knowledgeable guides are available for tours by appointment. Contact Waltraud Mirbeth to arrange a tour.

The Naturmuseum Königsbrunn is located at Königsallee 1. The museum is open every Saturday, Sunday and public holiday from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM. It is also open on market Sundays from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM. On International Museum Day, the museum welcomes visitors from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM and 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM. Best of all, admission is free.

Step inside the Naturmuseum Königsbrunn. It is more than just a museum. It is an invitation to connect with the natural world. It encourages us to appreciate and protect the environment around us. This is a place where curiosity thrives.
