Look closely and you’ll spot a triangular pediment above the doorway, a feature typical of its early design. Over the years, the Capela de Nossa Senhora das Canas underwent significant expansions, most notably in the 20th century. The addition of the nave, the bell tower, and the sacristy gave the chapel its present form. Interestingly, these additions also introduced a blend of architectural styles. The chapel boasts a choir loft accessible only from the outside. Inside, your eyes are drawn to the altarpiece. This stunning piece, crafted in the 20th century in the Baroque style, is a relatively recent addition, subject to modern repainting. Its presence serves as a reminder of the continuous evolution of this sacred space.
