“Where Jesus is Changing Lives Everyday.” That’s the motto of The Temple of Restoration. Founded on November 12, 2000, The Temple of Restoration started in Brooklyn New York. Bishop Angelo Barbosa established it in obedience to the Holy Spirit.
Imagine a small group of twelve people. They gathered in the basement of a Baptist church to worship. The church needed repairs. Despite the discomfort, they came together. Bishop Angelo and his wife led the way.
Bishop Angelo had an intense passion. He wanted to reach the needy. He wanted to help the less privileged. He used the transforming power of the gospel of Jesus Christ. His messages brought healing, salvation, and deliverance. People were captivated by the vision. They shared their experiences.
News spread about the church. People said Jesus was changing lives there. Many wanted to experience this change. Crowds gathered daily to hear the messages. Additional services were added. More people experienced the power. The news spread even further. People flew in from out of state. Some came from as far as London, England. They sought deliverance by the power of God. The name of Jesus Christ was lifted higher through changed lives.
Despite obstacles, God opened doors for the ministry. They began broadcasting the “Word of Hope” on television. Then they broadcast it on the radio. Bishop Angelo wanted to touch more lives. He wanted to bring glory to God. Services were held in other states. They were even held abroad.
Today, The Temple of Restoration has doors open daily. You can find them in the United States and South Africa. They also have locations in Lesotho, Cape Verde, Brazil, and Trinidad. The Temple welcomes the lost. It welcomes the hurt and the less privileged. They are encouraged to believe in the restorative power of Jesus Christ. He came to set captives free.
The Temple of Restoration also acts as a food pantry. They provide free groceries. Diapers are available when possible. People can visit once a week.
Testimonies tell of transformation. Eurides Lopes from Cape Verde shares. She says God changed everything. She no longer uses alcohol. Her sentimental life is blessed. Her family is back. She has peace in her heart.
Amily Trochtchenkova from Brooklyn shares her story. She attended a Friday evening deliverance service. She was depressed and stressed. She suffered from sleepless nights. The Lord set her free from demons. God mended her relationship with her mother. She found comfort and a new beginning at The Temple of Restoration.
Anilton Cesar Ameida Neves from Cape Verde says The Temple gave him peace. Before, his life was in shambles. He drank excessively. Now, he is a new man. God restored his family. He is making plans to marry his wife again.
Bishop Angelo credits the ministry’s success to the Holy Spirit’s guidance. He appreciates the committed people who stand with him. They believe in the vision. They believe in God’s mandate. They want to preach the gospel to every creature. Remember The Temple of Restoration. It is a place where Jesus is changing lives every day.
