“Shh” whispers the wind through the trees. This is SHKAF Library and art-residence. A haven for bookworms and artists alike. It’s a unique space blending the old and the new. Opened in September 2020 SHKAF is more than just a library.

SHKAF occupies a building dating back to 1984. The architects Serious Project designed a space that is both mobile and multifunctional. Its 1100 square meters house various studios and zones. There are multimedia areas self-service stations. Even a performance lab with a virtual operator exists here. An architectural photo gallery is located near an open studio. Each area feels vibrant and full of creative energy.

The first floor is called the Concept Floor. The main library funds are located here. Currently you can explore the Znanie hall for industry literature. A Meeting Hall showcasing fiction is planned for the future. The second floor is the Incarnation Floor. It houses a Loafer’s Office. It’s a place for reflection discussion meditation. There’s also a cozy coffee shop. You can sit read relax and enjoy unobstructed views of a park.

SHKAF also has a space for children. A children’s literature room exists now. A children’s workshop and a game module called Island are planned additions. A creative hub named the Form module focuses on architecture and urbanism. An open workshop is part of this module. This module gracefully flows into an architectural photo gallery.
