Established in 2005, Seven Lakes High School has quickly become a cornerstone of the community. Katy ISD built Seven Lakes High School to ease crowding at Cinco Ranch and Katy High Schools. New Katy area developments increased the student population. PBK Architects designed Seven Lakes High School using the same layout as Morton Ranch and Cinco Ranch High Schools.

Originally a small 4A high school, Seven Lakes High School now serves over 3,600 students. The Texas Education Agency has recognized Seven Lakes High School as a high-performing campus for 18 years. Niche.com ranked Seven Lakes High School as the number one high school in the area and eleventh in the state in 2018.

But what’s in a name? The name “Seven Lakes” comes from the Seven Meadows and Grand Lakes communities. “Seven” comes from Seven Meadows. “Lakes” comes from Grand Lakes.

Seven Lakes High School boasts impressive facilities. The campus spans 124 acres. It includes a natatorium with diving equipment and nine tennis courts. There’s a weight lifting room and an auxiliary weight room. Seven Lakes High School provides advanced technology. There are 900 computers and wireless access. The performing arts center and black box theater enhance creative programs. There are also two dark rooms. Science labs and art labs with courtyards support hands-on learning.

Seven Lakes High School offers many Advanced Placement courses. Students can choose from 28 AP courses. The school consistently outperforms state averages on college entrance exams.

Athletics are a point of pride at Seven Lakes High School. The school won the Chronicle Cup in 2008. This award recognized the school’s superb athletic program. The Varsity Boys Cross Country Team won the 4A State title in 2007. Seven Lakes High School has claimed state championships in wrestling, boys’ soccer, and spirit.

Seven Lakes High School excels in academics and activities. The school has won state championships in UIL Academic Decathlon and Social Studies. Seven Lakes High School’s UIL teams have also achieved state titles in Current Issues/Events, Spelling, and Computer Science. The school’s orchestra has earned state recognition multiple times.
