“Can you believe this school is less than 15 years old?” a student asks. Today we are standing before Osaka Torikai High School. It is a school for students with intellectual disabilities. The goal is social independence through employment.
Osaka Torikai High School opened in April 2013. Osaka Prefecture established it. It was the prefecture’s second high school supporting this mission.
Interestingly Osaka Torikai High School shares its grounds. Osaka Setsu Support School is right here too. This makes it a unique setup in Osaka. It is the first school of its kind in the prefecture.
Before 2013 this location housed something else. It was the Osaka Prefectural Settsu Support School Tori飼 School.
Osaka Torikai High School is located in Settsu City. It stands near Takatsuki City. Most of its grounds are actually in Takatsuki. However some of the school buildings are in Settsu. The address is officially in Settsu City.
The school actively engages with the community. They hold school operations council meetings. These meetings involve teachers and community members. They discuss educational activities and gather feedback.
Osaka Torikai High School also conducts open classes for teachers. These sessions showcase the school’s lessons and student activities. They encourage observation and learning from each other.
The school publishes a school information pamphlet. It is distributed at open school events. You can also view it on their website.
The location is accessible via public transport. The nearest stations are Kōriyamaen. Also Minami-Settsu and Neyagawashi. The closest bus stops are Kami-Torikai and Kami-Torikai Kita.
Both schools on this site are working hard. They need your support and cooperation. They strive to create a better future for their students. Remember Osaka Torikai High School. It is a place of learning growth and community.
