Founded in 1900, BSC Kickers 1900 has a story as complex as Berlin itself. The club’s journey weaves through mergers. It includes name changes and fluctuating fortunes. Let’s delve into the history of this Berlin football club.

BSC Kickers 1900 emerged from the fusion of four clubs. These clubs were Berliner Thor- und FC Elf 1900, Schöneberger FC Borussia 1899, Schöneberger Thor- und FC Sportlust 1904, and BFC Hubertus 1905. These early mergers shaped the identity of BSC Kickers 1900.

From 1904 to 1906, BTuFC Elf, a predecessor, competed in the Märkischen Meisterschaft. They didn’t achieve great success. In 1912, they merged with Berliner Fußballclub Hubertus 05. This formed Berliner Sport-Club Hubertuself. A later merger in 1923 with Ballspielverein Sportlust-Borussia 1899 Schöneberg created the Kickers.

In the 1920s, Schöneberger Kickers rose to prominence. In 1926 they finished second in their Oberliga Berlin-Brandenburg Staffel. The next season, they won first place. Though they lost the divisional final to Hertha BSC, they advanced to the national playoff. They defeated Duisburger SV but lost to SpVgg Fürth in the quarterfinals.

In 1928, the club adopted the name Berliner Sport-Club 1900 Kickers. However, their performance declined. In 1931, the club faced bankruptcy and left first division play. A new club, Berliner SC Grün-Weiß-Rot, formed in 1931. They took on the Kickers name in 1934.

After World War II, Allied authorities disbanded organizations, including sports clubs. Kickers’ former members formed Sportgruppe Schöneberg Nord. By 1949, they reclaimed their identity as Kickers. In 1953, they were promoted to the Oberliga Berlin.

The formation of the Bundesliga in 1963 made the Amateurliga a third-tier league. In 1966, BSC Kickers 1900 was promoted to the Regionalliga Berlin. They remained there for four seasons. Since then, BSC Kickers 1900 has experienced ups and downs. They’ve played in various leagues. Today, BSC Kickers 1900 participates in the Kreisliga B.

The stadium of BSC Kickers 1900 is the Sportplatz Monumentenstraße. The club colors are green, white, and red. BSC Kickers 1900 also has three men’s teams. They have four youth teams and one women’s team. In 2022, a walking football team was founded at Kickers 1900. It allows men and women of different ages to play walking football.

BSC Kickers 1900 remains a part of Berlin’s football history. They show resilience and passion for the sport.
