What echoes through the halls of the Full Gospel Assembly Church? Is it the fervent prayers of Apostle Jervis E. Lee Sr., the man who, in 2005, heard a divine whisper and founded this very church? The Full Gospel Assembly Church started with a mere ten souls. Today, it stands as a testament to faith and perseverance, having outgrown two previous locations. Apostle Lee, a native of Philadelphia, found his calling to preach in 1993 while serving in the U.S. Army in Germany. His first sermon declared, “It is High Time to Wake Up,” a message that seems to reverberate through the church’s history. From Germany to Saudi Arabia, where he preached “A Pentecost at Any Cost,” Apostle Lee’s journey eventually led him to Salt Lake City. Here, he met and married Cheryl B. Williams in 1995. Together, they built the Full Gospel Assembly Church, nurturing its growth alongside their nine children. The church is more than just a building. It’s a living testament to their shared vision. Apostle Lee’s journey continued as he was ordained an Elder in the Church of God in Christ in 1997. He served in various roles, from Sunday school teacher to Youth Pastor, further solidifying his dedication to the church. He even earned a Teaching Certificate from the C.H. Mason system of Bible Colleges. Prophetess Cheryl, originally from New York, joined her husband in ministry. She served as the State Purity Class president and co-founded the Full Gospel Deliverance Center C.O.G.I.C. She also became a published author, demonstrating her commitment to spreading the word through different avenues. The Full Gospel Assembly Church isn’t just a place of worship. It’s a story of dedication, growth, and unwavering faith. It’s a place where the echoes of “Victory in Jesus” still resonate, reminding us of the power of belief.
