From humble beginnings to a beacon of faith, that’s the story of Higher Praise Tabernacle. Right here in Accra, this church has a rich history. Let’s delve into the captivating journey of God’s Tabernacle of Praise, now known as Higher Praise Tabernacle. Apostle Ebenezer Adjei founded the church on July 25, 1993. He felt a divine calling to establish this place of worship. It all started with simple morning devotions with his family. Within just three weeks, the congregation grew to thirty-nine members. His wife, siblings, Reverend Francis Addo, and a few others joined Apostle Adjei. Together they embarked on a three-day evangelism mission in the Madina-Firestone area. This was just before the official founding date. On that first Sunday service, seventy-five adults and twenty-five children filled the borrowed two-room canopy. Friends and well-wishers came to support this new venture. Three weeks later, the numbers settled to around thirty-four members. These dedicated individuals formed the core of the church’s foundation. Initially, they held services under a borrowed canopy with rented chairs. Within five months, the congregation built a shed. This marked a step forward in their journey. Later, a 500-seater auditorium with a gallery was constructed. An adjacent building served as the church office. Higher Praise Tabernacle continued to grow. Currently, a 1,500-seater auditorium with offices is under construction. This will become the church’s headquarters. The church’s reach extends beyond Accra. It now has seven branches across Ghana and even one in Togo. Higher Praise Tabernacle is also actively involved in nurturing future pastors. They run a pastoral training school. This equips young ministers for their calling.
