“Ever imagined Osaka’s famous landmarks recreated with LEGO bricks?” That’s what awaits us at the HANKYU BRICK MUSEUM. This museum is located in the North Building of HANKYU SANBAN GAI. It is directly connected to Hankyu Osaka-umeda Station.

The HANKYU BRICK MUSEUM showcases the amazing work of Junpei Mitsui. He is Japan’s only LEGO certified professional builder. His intricate LEGO creations bring Kansai’s tourist spots to life. These displays impress visitors of all ages.

One of his masterpieces is a recreation of Arashiyama. This artwork vividly expresses the beautiful scenery. It uses about 50,000 LEGO pieces. The HANKYU BRICK MUSEUM also features Mitsui’s version of Hokusai Katsushika’s ukiyoe “Kanagawa Okinamiura”. This large-scale work is powerful. It draws you in with its incredible detail.

Mitsui spent hours watching videos of waves. He also read academic papers on giant wave formations. Mitsui wanted to capture the dynamics of crashing waves in his LEGO replica. The “The Great Wave off Kanagawa” is 128 centimeters long, 154 centimeters wide and 60 centimeters high. It contains approximately 50,000 pieces.

Another display is a 40,000-piece recreation of Takarazuka Grand Theater. This includes 800 LEGO figures making up the audience and artists.

The HANKYU BRICK MUSEUM is not just a place to look. It is a place to be inspired. After seeing Mitsui’s creations, you can visit the LEGO Store. The LEGO store is also in the HANKYU SANBAN GAI mall. Here, you can build your own LEGO masterpiece.

For families visiting Umeda, the HANKYU BRICK MUSEUM is a must-see. It offers an engaging and creative experience. It is easily accessible and indoors. So weather won’t affect your plans. The HANKYU BRICK MUSEUM is open from 10 am to 9 pm.

The HANKYU BRICK MUSEUM is more than just bricks. It is a testament to creativity and dedication. It shows how everyday objects can create extraordinary art. As you leave, remember the power of imagination. Maybe you’ll be inspired to create your own masterpiece.
