It’s officially recognized by both the Vietnamese government and the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha. This recognition speaks to its cultural and religious importance. The current abbot, Thích Trí Thanh, guides the temple’s spiritual direction. He leads a community dedicated to Mahayana Buddhist practices. You can reach the temple via a staircase leading up the hill. Or, if you prefer, you can follow a road accessible to motorbikes and cars that winds its way to the top.
