Stark Road Gospel Hall

Journey with me back to 1928, to the bustling city of Detroit. Here, amidst the city’s vibrant energy, the seeds of faith were sown, leading to the establishment of Stark Road Gospel Hall. Initially known by various names like West Chicago Boulevard Gospel Hall and Detroit Gospel Hall, this assembly has stood the test of time. Stark Road Gospel Hall, located at 9280 Stark Rd, has been a beacon of faith since 1966. The hall’s history is deeply intertwined with individuals like Alexander “Alex” Stewart, a Scotsman who served as a correspondent from 1936 to 1977. Another key figure is James Kirkland Vallance, also of Scottish descent, who served the community from 1978 to 2000. Dr. David Vallance continued this legacy, serving the hall from 2003 to 2018 while also maintaining a distinguished career as a Rheumatologist. Today, Stark Road Gospel Hall continues to thrive, offering weekly meetings including Sunday School, Prayer Meetings, and the central Gospel Meeting on Sunday evenings.
