In 1951, amidst the bustling post-war reconstruction of Narashino City, Yatsu-Shima Elementary School opened its doors. Yatsu-Shima Elementary, nestled in the heart of Chiba Prefecture, began not as an independent entity, but as a branch of Harutambuchi Elementary School. This was in January 1950. Just a few months later, in April, Yatsu-Shima Elementary gained its independence. Construction continued on the main school building until its completion in March 1968. Interestingly, the right-wing school building was finished earlier, in August 1966. Yatsu-Shima Elementary School has witnessed the growth and transformation of Narashino. From its humble beginnings as a branch school, it blossomed into a full-fledged institution. It has served the community for over 70 years. Today, Yatsu-Shima Elementary stands as a testament to the resilience and dedication of the Narashino community. It continues to shape the young minds of future generations.
