The IIUM Cultural Centre plays a crucial role. It provides a space for various activities. These include shows meetings workshops and gatherings. The university provides many facilities. The IIUM community uses these facilities.
But what makes the IIUM Cultural Centre truly special? It’s the dedication to promoting local and international culture. These cultures are imbued with Islamic elements. This sets it apart from other cultural organizations.
Imagine this. Talented students showcase their skills here. They present both modern and traditional performing arts. The ICC team creates a unique identity through these presentations.
The Centre for Arts and Cultural Sustainable Development or CiTRA oversees the ICC. CiTRA aims to be a referral centre for Islamic culture. It wants to be the best in the Muslim world. CiTRA’s mission is ambitious. It places Islamic thinking at the forefront. It strengthens unity among Muslims through various means. These include exhibitions research publications media and creative technology.
CiTRA has three units. There is a Development and Publication Unit. There is also an Administration and Finance Unit. Lastly, there is a Production Unit.
The International Islamic University Malaysia was established in 1983. It was founded upon Islamic principles. The IIUM strives to integrate knowledge with morals. This concept was adopted at an international convention. This took place in Mecca Saudi Arabia in 1976.
The university has produced many graduates. Since 1987 over 70000 graduates have come from here. They represent over 100 countries.
