Escape routes and access for emergency services were “very good”. Fire safety measures like extinguishers and alarms were also “very good”. Ventilation and emergency management needed improvement. These were rated “adequate” and “deficient”, respectively.
The Tunnel Wambel is regularly maintained. This ensures its safety and efficiency. Straßen.NRW, the regional road authority, often conducts overnight closures. These closures allow for essential maintenance of the tunnel’s technology.
