The Volkshochschule Augsburg, established in 1904, stands as a testament to the city’s commitment to lifelong learning. It’s the third-largest institution of its kind in Bavaria, following Munich and Nuremberg. Founded by Augsburg’s mayor at the time, Georg von Wolfram, the Volkshochschule Augsburg has a rich history. It was actually the first Volkshochschule in Germany to be granted the honor of awarding internationally recognized language certificates, including the TOEFL. Today, the Volkshochschule Augsburg welcomes around 67,000 eager learners annually.
