“Ramadan blessings,” a voice echoed. We stand before Masjid Al Fajar. This mosque isn’t just a place of worship. It’s a testament to community spirit, a beacon of hope in the heart of Pelita 7, Lubuk Baja, Batam. Masjid Al Fajar has witnessed the ebb and flow of Ramadan, a month of reflection and giving. In 2022, Governor Ansar Ahmad chose this very mosque to conclude his Ramadan tour. He spoke of faith, of making the most of Ramadan’s blessings, of the importance of community care. He reminded everyone that paradise, as vast as the heavens and earth, awaits the righteous. His words resonated within the walls of Masjid Al Fajar, a call to action for all who gathered. The Governor also used the opportunity to share updates on various development projects. He spoke of the Batam-Bintan bridge, the construction of shelters in Jakarta and Batam, and scholarships for underprivileged high school students. He also highlighted a zero-interest loan program for micro, small, and medium enterprises. His visit culminated in a donation to the Al Fajar Pelita Foundation, a gesture of support and solidarity with the community Masjid Al Fajar serves. His closing words, a heartfelt plea for forgiveness, marked the end of Ramadan and the beginning of Eid al-Fitr. Masjid Al Fajar stands as more than just bricks and mortar.
