Our Museum @ Taman Jurong is more than bricks and mortar. It’s a collaboration. The National Heritage Board the Taman Jurong Citizens Consultative Committee the Taman Jurong Community Arts and Culture Club and the People’s Association all worked together. They created a space where history and art meet. A mural depicts the drive-in cinema and Vespa factory. These were once nearby landmarks. They are now part of Taman Jurong’s rich tapestry.
More than just a nostalgic trip this museum celebrates community. It features artefacts and artworks from Singapore’s National Collection. Student artworks are shown alongside creations from local residents. A photojournalism project created by Nanyang Technological University students documents the neighbourhood’s unique history. The museum even has a reading corner. It contains over 1000 children’s books from the National Library Board. This ensures that the love of stories and learning continues for future generations.
