Can you feel the Ranger Pride? Right here at Terry High School, it’s practically tangible! Established in 1980, Terry High School was the second high school built in the rapidly expanding Lamar Consolidated Independent School District. They decided to dedicate this hub of learning to a true Texan hero, Benjamin Franklin Terry. Now, Terry wasn’t just any Texan, he was a leader who played a key role in the formation of the legendary “Terry’s Texas Rangers” during the Civil War. His spirit of determination and courage, that ‘Rangers Never Quit’ attitude, is woven into the very fabric of this school. From the hallways to the classrooms, you can almost hear the echoes of “Terry’s Texas Rangers,” their legacy inspiring generations of students to strive for excellence every single day.
