Uji City Kori Elementary School began in April 1967. It started in Uji Elementary School. In October 1967 the school moved to its current location. A gymnasium was completed in April 1969. Additions to the school building happened in March 1970 and March 1971.

A swimming pool was finished in August 1971. In April 1973 some students split off. They formed Uji City Momoyama Elementary School. A class for students with emotional disabilities opened in April 1974. The north school building was expanded in September 1978.

The school renovated its lunchroom in 1981. Large-scale renovations finished in 1995. A computer room was set up in November 1996. More large-scale renovations were done in 1999, 2002, 2004 and 2007.

In April 2010 the school district changed. This was due to more students at Momoyama Elementary School.

In February 2010, fifth-grade students learned dance. A social studies instructor taught them street dance. The students then had a chance to show their new skills. They performed at the school gymnasium. The performance was on a school visitation day.

Uji City Kori Elementary School provides a positive place. Parents and staff are friendly. The school aims to give students the best start in life. It fosters a love for learning and community.
