The story of Iglesia Cristiana Torre Fuerte is deeply rooted in faith. In 1922 a group of people populated colonias. These areas are now known as General Anaya. They include Moderna, Postal, and Zacahuitzco. Nativitas, Independencia, and Portales were also founded at that time. Among these settlers were families professing the evangelical faith. They began to identify with each other. They started celebrating worship services in their homes. Their purpose was to praise God.
God’s movement grew stronger. On May 4, 1927, the first temple opened. Brothers and sisters from various evangelical denominations decided on a name. They chose IGLESIA CRISTIANA INTERDENOMINACIONAL. They did not want to belong to any existing denomination. Interdenominational seemed appropriate. It meant among or in the middle of denominations.
Brother Josué Mejía was the church’s first pastor. Under his leadership, the church received its basic doctrine from God. He was a man of God. He was called to the celestial regions on September 5, 1950. As his legacy, Brother Josué left behind over 120 pastors. He also left numerous churches and missions.
Brother Felipe Sánchez Muñíz was divinely appointed as the next pastor. His leadership spanned from 1951 to 1998. During this time, the Iglesia Cristiana Interdenominacional grew exponentially. It resulted in thousands of saved souls. More than 1,200 congregations were established across Mexico and the United States.
Since then, the church has been led by Brother Aarón Cortés Hernández. He was called to be the pastor through prophecy. This occurred during the General Pastors Meeting in July 1999.

Services are available for all ages. Every Wednesday at 7:00 pm, there are activities. “Amaneciendo con Dios” occurs every first Saturday of the month at 6:00 am. Sunday School is at 1:00 pm. General Service follows at 2:00 pm.
The Iglesia Cristiana Torre Fuerte has various ministries. There is a women’s ministry called “Damas e Hijas del Rey”. The children’s ministry is known as “Niños Shaddai of the Kids”. There is also a men’s ministry.
