It’s a beacon of progress, established under the auspices of UNESCO. This “Institution of National Importance” was born from an agreement between the Government of India and UNESCO in 2006. The Regional Centre for Biotechnology’s mission is clear: to foster education, training, and cutting-edge research in biotechnology. The Regional Centre for Biotechnology’s journey began in Gurgaon in 2010, in interim facilities. It later found its permanent home on this expansive campus in Faridabad in 2015. The Regional Centre for Biotechnology operates within the Biotech Science Cluster. It collaborates with other institutions, creating a dynamic hub of scientific exploration. The Regional Centre for Biotechnology’s mandate is to provide a platform for multidisciplinary research. It offers students the chance to integrate biotechnology with engineering, medicine, and other scientific fields. The Regional Centre for Biotechnology’s vision is to cultivate a workforce capable of driving biotech innovation. It seeks to address global challenges in human and animal health, agriculture, and environmental technology. The Indian Parliament recognized the Regional Centre for Biotechnology as an “Institution of National Importance.” It’s also designated as a UNESCO “Category II Centre.” This reflects its commitment to international cooperation and high standards.
