After German reunification, the Westhafen area, including the Westhafen Event & Convention Center, underwent extensive restoration. This transformation breathed new life into the historic warehouses and administrative buildings, eventually leading to its current incarnation. The Westhafen Event & Convention Center officially opened its doors as an event venue in May 2015. The brainchild of Thorsten Schermall, CEO of the 40SECONDS GROUP, the Westhafen Event & Convention Center has become a sought-after destination for a variety of events. The Westhafen Event & Convention Center boasts an impressive 2,800 square meters of event space. This includes two large halls, eight state-of-the-art workshop rooms, and even a spacious outdoor area with its own ship dock. It can accommodate up to 1,700 people, making it perfect for large-scale events. In fact, it has hosted prestigious gatherings like the Cinema for Peace Gala, the G7 International Expert Conference in 2022, and even the Ampel Talks of the German Federal Government.
