Established in 1960 Crescenta Valley High School stands proudly. It serves students from North Glendale La Crescenta and Montrose. Even a part of La Cañada Flintridge falls within its reach. The school’s history is rich. It boasts a California Pivotal Practice award from 2022. A National Blue Ribbon School award followed in 2000. In 2005 it received a California Distinguished School award. The same year Los Angeles County honored it with a Bravo Award for excellence in the arts. Further accolades came in 2019 with another California Distinguished School award. This time it highlighted exemplary programs in arts education physical activity and nutrition. Sadly the school also faced tragedy. In 2012 a student’s suicide made headlines. But the school’s legacy extends far beyond awards and challenges. Its notable alumni include actors like Wil Wheaton and Steve Howey. Musicians such as Bethany Cosentino and Tinashe also walked these halls. The list includes athletes like Michelle Greco and Tom Holmoe. Even a renowned screenwriter Steven Zaillian calls Crescenta Valley High School his alma mater.
