Overlooking the Baie des Anges, the Faculté de Droit et Science Politique stands on the Colline de Magnan. This isn’t just a building. It’s a living testament to the evolution of legal and political thought. The Faculté de Droit et Science Politique started its journey in 1965 as the Faculté de Droit et des Sciences Economiques. It was part of the newly established Université de Nice. Years later, it broadened its scope. It embraced political science and management. This led to a name change reflecting its multidisciplinary nature: the Faculté de Droit, des Sciences Politiques, Economiques et de Gestion. The Faculté de Droit et Science Politique became a true crossroads of academic disciplines. In 2010, a new chapter began. The economics and management departments moved to the new Saint-Jean d’Angely Campus. This transition solidified the identity of the Faculté de Droit et Science Politique as we know it today. The university has over 200 teacher-researchers supporting approximately 3,600 students. It covers the traditional legal disciplines. These are represented by the first three sections of the Conseil National des Universités (CNU). They are housed within their respective departments: Private Law and Criminal Sciences, Public Law, and History of Law. The Faculté de Droit et Science Politique isn’t confined to traditional studies. It offers new professional orientations. These include specializations in health law, new technologies, and sports law. The university also has a political science department. This corresponds to the fourth section of the CNU. It integrates political science teachings into the first two years of the law curriculum. It also provides dedicated political science programs. These start from the third year of the Licence and continue through Master and Doctorate levels.
