Founded in 1921 as the private Daisho Gakko, the school has transformed over the years. It started in Osaka. Then, it moved to Kadomashi in October of the same year. In 1923, it was renamed Nisshin Commercial School. A further move occurred in 1924. The school relocated to Fuse-cho, Nakakawachi-gun now part of Higashi Osaka City. It became Nisshin Technical School in 1944. This was due to wartime measures converting commercial schools to technical ones. After the war in 1946, it reverted to a commercial school. It was renamed Nisshin Commercial School again.

A significant change occurred in 1948. The school became a public high school under the administration of Fuse City. It was renamed Fuse City Nisshin High School. At that time, Fuse City Fifth Junior High School now Higashi Osaka City Kahoku Junior High School shared the same site.

In 1967, Fuse City merged with other municipalities to form Higashi Osaka City. Consequently, the school’s name changed to Higashi Osaka City Nisshin High School. The school moved to its current location in August 1974. This gave it an independent campus.

Higashi Osaka City Nisshin High School offers a variety of academic departments. These include general studies, business, and English. Since 2018, the general studies program offers specialized courses. Students can choose from humanities, science, or sports. A unique feature is the short-term study abroad program. It is supported by the city. This allows students to broaden their horizons.

Many notable alumni have walked these halls. They include professional baseball players like Masanobu Yamaguchi and Tamotsu Honjo. There is also pitcher, Jiro Takeda.

Getting here is relatively easy. From Kintetsu Ishikiri Station, it is a 15-minute walk northwest. Alternatively, take a Kintetsu bus from Kawachi Hanazono Station. Get off at Konoike Shisho Elementary School. It is then a 10-minute walk east.
