Here at the Universiti Brunei Darussalam, the School of Business and Economics, or SBE, has been a cornerstone of academic excellence since 1986. One of the university’s founding faculties, the School of Business and Economics aimed to become a national leader in business, economics, and finance. It offers a wide array of programs. These include Bachelor of Business degrees with majors in Business Administration, Economics, Entrepreneurship, and Accounting and Finance. It also has Master’s programs in Business Administration (MBA), Islamic Finance, Management, Logistics, and Applied Economics. Additionally, research opportunities abound with Master by Research and PhD programs. The School of Business and Economics understands the demands of a globalized world. Its modules are designed to equip graduates with marketable skills and leadership qualities. Research at the School of Business and Economics thrives through a multi-disciplinary network, spanning numerous fields. International collaborations with regional and international universities further enrich the research landscape. These partnerships facilitate research networks, publications, faculty and student exchanges, academic workshops, and global engagement. The faculty represents a blend of local expertise and international perspectives. Faculty members hail from Asia-Pacific and European countries, bringing proven research experience and quality teaching to the School of Business and Economics. The School of Business and Economics joined the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB) in 2014. This internationally recognized accreditation body connects business schools, students, and businesses. The School of Business and Economics is currently pursuing AACSB accreditation. Since 2011, the Accounting and Finance program has held accreditation from the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA). This prestigious professional qualification grants students exemptions from nine ACCA qualification papers. In 2018, the School of Business and Economics launched its own publication. The Journal of Business and Economic Analysis (JBEA) showcases research and contributes to the academic discourse. Beyond the classroom, the School of Business and Economics encourages practical learning experiences.
