Founded in January 1957 St Andrew’s School stands proudly. It’s a testament to a vision. Rev Canon Paul En Siong’s vision to be precise. He started with just 70 students. Can you imagine? Seventy students in a small school. Now look around. St Andrew’s School is a thriving institution. It boasts over 1694 boys and girls. They fill 50 classrooms from Kindergarten to secondary school.
This isn’t just any school. It’s a Christian school managed by the Anglican Church. It’s Brunei’s first Anglican school. This multicultural school welcomes students from various backgrounds. Bruneian students make up over 60% of the student body. However the school also embraces diversity. Students from Malaysia Singapore the Philippines and India also attend.

The government supports localization. The school increasingly hires local teachers. Since 1978 the Ministry of Education provides Bahasa Melayu teachers. Since 1971 the Ministry of Religious Affairs provides Islamic Religious Knowledge teachers.
