In 1979, a vision took root in the heart of Bishop Thomas E. Brown. He dreamt of a church where everyone could worship freely, regardless of background. This dream became Mt. Sinai United Christian Church. Mt. Sinai United Christian Church started humbly in 1980, in the Brown family home. Just a year later, Mt. Sinai opened its doors at 906 Post Ave. Evangelism was its core mission. Mt. Sinai United Christian Church moved a couple of times, first to 187 Victory Boulevard in 1984, then to 76 Victory Boulevard in 1986. A significant change happened in 1987. Bishop Brown passed away, and Rev. Victor A. Brown took the helm as Pastor. Weekly Bible study became a cornerstone of Mt. Sinai United Christian Church. Tithes and offerings became the lifeblood of the church, sustaining its operations. In 1991, Mt. Sinai United Christian Church underwent another transformation. It shifted from being an independent Methodist church to a non-denominational Living Word of God Church. This decision reflected the church’s commitment to inclusivity and spiritual growth. Today, Mt. Sinai United Christian Church is led by Bishop Victor A. Brown. He extends a warm welcome to all, emphasizing the church’s atmosphere of love and authentic worship. He encourages members to be active participants in their faith, not just passive listeners. He challenges them to live out God’s word in their daily lives. Mt. Sinai United Christian Church provides guidance and support to its members. It aims to create a spiritually enriching experience for everyone who walks through its doors.
