Phường Phạm Đình Hổ

Curiosity sparked within me as we approached the heart of Hanoi. Today, we unravel the story of Phường Phạm Đình Hổ. Phường Phạm Đình Hổ is a vibrant neighborhood located in the Hai Bà Trưng district. It’s a place where history and modern life intertwine. Originally, Phường Phạm Đình Hổ encompassed a larger area, including a significant portion of the former Ngô Thì Nhậm ward. In 2019, Phường Phạm Đình Hổ had an area of 0.30 square kilometers and a population of 7,355. The population density was 24,517 people per square kilometer. Ngô Thì Nhậm ward spanned 0.19 square kilometers and housed 6,168 residents. Its population density reached 32,463 people per square kilometer. A significant change occurred on February 11, 2020. The Standing Committee of the National Assembly issued Resolution No. 895/NQ-UBTVQH14. This resolution, effective March 1, 2020, restructured administrative units in Hanoi. Consequently, 0.18 square kilometers and 5,526 residents from Ngô Thì Nhậm ward were merged into Phường Phạm Đình Hổ. This increased Phường Phạm Đình Hổ’s area to 0.48 square kilometers. The population grew to 12,962 by 2022, resulting in a population density of 27,004 people per square kilometer. Phường Phạm Đình Hổ is bordered by Bạch Đằng Street to the east, Nguyễn Du Street to the west, Đống Mác, Đống Nhận, and Phố Huế streets to the south, and Hoàn Kiếm district to the north. The ward is a hub of activity, with around 400 production and business establishments. These establishments contribute to the local economy, alongside services catering to small-scale trade. Phường Phạm Đình Hổ also has a rich cultural landscape. It boasts a youth cultural and sports center, two memorial stelae on Tăng Bạt Hổ Street, and the Pasteur flower garden. Educational institutions such as the Chim Non Kindergarten and the Lê Ngọc Hân Primary and Secondary School play a vital role in the community.
