Peeking out from under the Brooklyn Bridge is Juliana’s Pizza, a culinary landmark. It is not just another pizzeria. Juliana’s Pizza is a testament to family tradition and the enduring legacy of Patsy Grimaldi.

In 2012, Patsy Grimaldi, a name synonymous with New York pizza excellence, founded Juliana’s. He named it after his mother, Juliana Lancieri Grimaldi. This marked his return to 19 Old Fulton Street. This was the original location of his legendary Grimaldi’s Pizzeria.

Patsy’s pizza journey began long before Juliana’s. His uncle, Pasquale “Patsy” Lancieri, opened Patsy’s Pizzeria in East Harlem in 1933. Patsy Grimaldi started there as a cook. Following in his uncle’s footsteps, Patsy opened Grimaldi’s Pizzeria in 1990. He sold the Grimaldi’s brand in 1998 when he retired.

Juliana’s embodies Patsy’s time-honored pizza-making traditions. The pizzeria uses the finest house-made toppings. These toppings are sourced locally and internationally. The pizzas are expertly cooked in the original hand-built coal-fired oven. It was the first oven commissioned in New York in over fifty years.

Juliana’s is famous for its classic Margherita pizza. It features San Marzano tomatoes, mozzarella, and basil. The menu also includes cannoli and egg creams. It offers a taste of New York culinary history. The restaurant sold about 40 egg creams a week before the pandemic. Tourists and locals alike enjoyed them.

Juliana’s quickly gained acclaim. TripAdvisor named it the “#1 pizzeria in the United States” in 2015. Zagat rated it the best place in New York City to get pizza in 2016. New York Magazine lauded its cannoli and egg creams.

Located in DUMBO, Brooklyn, Juliana’s offers stunning views of Manhattan Island. Its location near the Brooklyn Bridge adds to its charm.

The menu at Juliana’s is diverse. It includes appetizers, pizzas, white pizzas, and calzones. You can also find spaghetti and meatballs. Desserts include New York cheesecake, cannoli, and local ice cream. The drinks menu features egg cream, espresso, and beer. Seltzer from the Brooklyn Seltzer Boys is also available.

Patsy Grimaldi passed away recently at the age of 93. His legacy lives on through Juliana’s Pizza. The team at Juliana’s is committed to honoring his vision.

Juliana’s Pizza is more than a restaurant. It is a symbol of New York’s pizza heritage. It embodies family, tradition, and the pursuit of pizza perfection. Each pizza tells a story. It is a story of passion, dedication, and the love of sharing great food.
