Pulau Silipan offers more than just scenic views. Approximately 2409 hectares of the island boast mangrove forests. These forests serve as a crucial research area. Since 1995, the Forestry Department has been improving the island. They transformed it into a recreational park. This development was part of the 6th National Development Plan.

Known for its rich biodiversity, Pulau Silipan is part of an important ecotourism initiative. It is one of ten islands earmarked for ecotourism. Research and education thrive here. A 2-kilometer walkway allows visitors to explore. An observation tower helps to monitor wildlife.

Getting to Pulau Silipan requires a speedboat journey from Bandar Seri Begawan. The ride takes about 45 minutes from Muara. You’ll travel along the Brunei River. Finally, you will cross Brunei Bay.
