Four generations of one family lived within the walls of La maison Lauriault for 50 years. The Lauriault House stands as a testament to time. It is located in Montreal. This house whispers tales of families. Its walls resonate with stories of entrepreneurship and civic dedication.

In 1944, Madame Audia Charbonneau, the widow of the owner, passed the house to Charles-Arthur Giroux. He was an entrepreneur. For half a century, the Giroux family called La maison Lauriault home. Four generations lived here. They added their own chapters to the house’s ongoing narrative.

Then, in 1994, a new chapter began for La maison Lauriault. Maurice Vanier, the last mayor of Pointe-aux-Trembles, and Louise Côté became its owners. Louise Côté was the administrative assistant at the Centre Roussin. They owned the house until 1999.

Today, La maison Lauriault continues to stand. It is a window into Montreal’s past. The house scored 2019 on the historicity scale. Its very presence reminds us of the people.
