For over 125 years the community of Bình Chánh has gathered here. Generations have witnessed its evolution. Wars and changing times have tested its strength. Yet the faith of the people remains strong. The current church building a second iteration. Father Paul Phạm Trung Dong oversaw its construction in 1999.
The parish of Nhà thờ Giáo xứ Bình Chánh covers a wide area. It includes Bình Chánh Tân Quý Tân Túc Hưng Long and An Phú Tây. Despite its long history the congregation is relatively small. Only about 800 people attend services today. This is due to historical events like war. The Salesian priests of Don Bosco play a vital role. They bring a renewed energy to the parish.

This was a significant anniversary. It marked 350 years since the establishment of two dioceses in the East and the East Outside. It also marked 50 years since the establishment of the Vietnamese Catholic seminary.
People from surrounding areas visit. They come from Long Thường Cần Giuộc Long Thành and Tân Bến. The distance is under 20 kilometers. It’s a pilgrimage site drawing people from near and far.
