What’s in a name? At Post Hall, it’s more than you might think. Post Hall, nestled within the CIRA Garage in University City, isn’t named for the Meryl Streep movie. Its moniker actually honors the legacy of the U.S. Post Office. This lively beer hall and game parlor opened its doors in January 2019, offering a unique blend of pub fare, local brews, and entertainment. Post Hall is the brainchild of Branden McRill and Brandywine Realty Trust, the same team behind the nearby Walnut Street Café. Inside Post Hall, you’ll find a relaxed atmosphere crafted with communal benches, leather booths, and bar seating for around 88 people. There’s also a private event space that can accommodate up to 100 guests. The menu, curated by Executive Chef Richard Cusack, boasts classic bar bites like wings, mac n’ cheese, fried chicken, and sliders. Cusack’s background includes upscale French dining establishments, bringing a touch of refinement to Post Hall’s casual fare. Behind the bar, you’ll find a selection of local craft beers from breweries like Evil Genius, Victory, and Troegs, alongside national and international favorites. Happy hour, running Monday through Friday, features enticing deals on drinks and appetizers. And if you happen to visit on a game day, whether it’s for the Philadelphia Eagles or the Penn Quakers, be sure to take advantage of the special drink prices. Post Hall offers more than just food and drinks. It’s a vibrant hub of activity, with shuffleboard, skeeball, basketball, virtual golf, and a multitude of video and arcade games to choose from. Even the tables are equipped with board games like Cards Against Humanity and Trivial Pursuit, ensuring there’s never a dull moment. Post Hall’s energetic ambiance extends into the evenings and weekends, with live music and DJs setting the stage for a memorable experience.
