Does this chapel offer solace within a place dedicated to healing? The Kapelle Klinikum Bruderwald stands as a testament to the integration of spiritual care within the medical environment of the Klinikum am Bruderwald in Bamberg.

The Klinikum am Bruderwald is a hospital providing maximum care in Bamberg. It is an academic teaching hospital of the Friedrich Alexander University. The Sozialstiftung Bamberg supports it. The hospital was completed in March 1984. It had 847 beds and cost 335 million DM.

In 2014, for the Klinikum am Bruderwald’s thirtieth anniversary, they announced a fourth bed tower. This tower was in the original plans from the 1980s. They had already done some preliminary construction. But they did not need the capacity expansion yet.

The fourth bed tower opened gradually until late summer 2019. The second floor houses child psychosomatics. The third floor is for adults. The fourth floor has the new Clinic for Integrative Medicine and Natural Healing. The fifth floor contains the Stroke Unit. It also includes neurological early rehabilitation. It offers complete treatment for neurological rehabilitation. The sixth floor became the new care unit for geriatrics. More floors with nursing stations followed.

A second parking garage with 1006 spaces was finished in 2022. A roof landing pad was built on the second bed tower. This replaced the previous helicopter landing pad. The 11.2 million Euro project opened in April 2024.

The Kapelle Klinikum Bruderwald offers a place for reflection. It gives patients, visitors, and staff a quiet space. It is available for prayer and contemplation. The chapel’s design promotes peace.

The Sozialstiftung Bamberg invests a lot of money each year. It keeps the hospitals up to state-of-the-art standards. It puts a large emphasis on the appearance of the hospital’s outdoor areas. This makes the patients’ stay as nice as possible.

The Kapelle Klinikum Bruderwald is wheelchair accessible. It provides an inclusive and welcoming environment. It is a space where everyone can find peace. It is a place of worship. It acknowledges the importance of spiritual well-being.
