Originally erected on May 20, 1950, the \u89e3\u653e\u5185\u4f36\u4ec3\u7eaa\u5ff5\u7891 War Memorial was first situated north of the South Gate school field in Bao’an County. It was initially named the “Liberation of Nei Lingding Island Memorial Monument.” The People’s Liberation Army’s 44th Army, specifically the 130th Division’s 390th Regiment, erected it. They wished to honor the officers and soldiers who died capturing Nei Lingding Island.
Interestingly, the \u89e3\u653e\u5185\u4f36\u4ec3\u7eaa\u5ff5\u7891 War Memorial has been relocated three times. In August 1980, it was merged with the “Grain Collection Team Memorial Monument.” They rebuilt it south of the Bao’an County City Church. The name remained “Liberation of Nei Lingding Island Memorial Monument”. In September of the same year, the Shenzhen Municipal People’s Government designated it as a protected cultural relic.
In August 1994, the original “Liberation of Nei Lingding Island Memorial Monument” was dismantled. But on August 1, 1995, a new monument was erected.
Standing at 12 meters tall, the \u89e3\u653e\u5185\u4f36\u4ec3\u7eaa\u5ff5\u7891 War Memorial is inscribed with the words “Revolutionary Martyrs Are Immortal.” A general wrote this inscription.
