“What could possibly connect a failed imperial exam candidate to Guilin’s most revered revolutionary monument?” I ask you now. The answer lies within the story of the \u848b\u7fca\u6b66\u5148\u751f\u5c31\u4e49\u5904\u7eaa\u5ff5\u7891.

This monument stands as a testament. It honors Jiang Jiewu’s sacrifice and contribution to the revolution. The \u848b\u7fca\u6b66\u5148\u751f\u5c31\u4e49\u5904\u7eaa\u5ff5\u7891 is located in front of 22 Jiang Jiewu Road, Guilin City.

In 1913, Sun Yat-sen visited Guilin. He ordered the construction of this memorial. It commemorated Jiang Jiewu’s heroic death. Jiang Jiewu gave his life for the revolution.

The monument has a unique design. It is a tower-like square cone. A square pyramid tops the structure. It is made of green stone. Three levels of steps surround the base. The monument is 3.55 meters tall. Its base is 0.65 meters wide. The top is slightly narrower at 0.5 meters.

Sun Yat-sen inscribed the front of the monument. His inscription reads “Founding Merit Jiang Jiewu, Mr. Jiang Jiewu’s Place of Sacrifice.” The inscription is in regular script with characters 0.2 meters in diameter. Hu Hanmin wrote the text on the other three sides. This inscription is in running script with characters 0.11 meters in diameter.

Jiang Jiewu’s story is intertwined. It is linked to the Taiping Rebellion. The rebellion engulfed China from 1850 to 1864. The leader Hong Xiuquan believed himself to be the younger brother of Jesus.

Jiang Jiewu was a revolutionary. He played a crucial role in the Wuchang Uprising. This event was vital for the Xinhai Revolution. Jiang Jiewu excelled in his contributions.

Jiang Jiewu was later captured. He was executed in Guilin. Sun Yat-sen deeply honored Jiang Jiewu. Sun Yat-sen recognized his achievements. He ordered the construction of this monument. It was a tribute to Jiang Jiewu’s unwavering commitment.

The \u848b\u7fca\u6b66\u5148\u751f\u5c31\u4e49\u5904\u7eaa\u5ff5\u7891 became a Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region cultural relic in 1963. The monument stands as a symbol. It represents revolutionary spirit. It also embodies patriotism. The monument ensures that Jiang Jiewu’s legacy endures.
